DIM Error

Hello!

Today I had a bluescreen on my HP ProLiant 260 G6 Server.
By reading the HP Insight Diagnostic I found the following Entry:

Informationen zu Serial Presence Detect (SPD) - DIMM 3, Card 1
Speichertyp DDR3
DRAM-Speichertyp UDIMM
DIMM-Beschreibung SPS-DIMM 2GB PC3-10600E
Ersatzteilnummer 501540-001
Single-Bit-Schwellenwert überschritten - Status Keine DIMM-Fehler ermittelt
Multi-Bit-Status Ein nicht korrigierbarer Fehler ist aufgetreten.
Single-Bit-Schwellenwertzahl 0
Multi-Bit-Anzahl 1


Should I replace the Memory?

Hi Thomas,

that DIMM3 in memory card 1 has experienced a Multi Bit error, (Multi-Bit-Anzahl 1
) so it is normal that the OS crashes. Pls let that DIMM be replaced by a new/good one to prevent this from happening in the future.


Single bit errors can be corrected, but not multiple bit errors.
