Hi, I am assisting a customer that has purchased some 145 G3 servers.
Wondering how to use OpenIPMI / RedHat to gather info from the BMC. There are clients for the 300 Series but nothing for the 100.
We realize there are no agents for 100 series, we just need a user guide or some type of help on how to manage 100 series servers using IPMI 2.0 in Linux.
Thank you for any help!
Shawn

Solution
No need to download anything :-)
It's as easy as:
# chkconfig ipmi on ; service ipmi start
...if you have the standard OpenIPMI packages installed (otherwise install them with up2date).
Then to, for example, read the system event log:
# ipmitool sel list
