Hello,
I have a DL140 G2 server. I want to install Pfsense to it(or any other os does not matter at this point). The computer cannot find the disk at the installation point. I understood that i ought to install some drivers for the sata controller sas1068 but i could not do it. I tried several things. If you know anything about the solution. it would be very helpful for me.

Solution
Hi Banipal,
You have two options here.
Use a HP external USB floppy drive. Other brands my work fine but are not tested. An example of an HP external USB floppy drive would be part number F5101B.
Or
Download the latest controller drivers and burn a bootable ISO image with the Controller drivers and the OS which case, you would not require an external floppy drive
URL to download Controller drivers :
http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/locate/69_6149.html
Please find the attached nLite.doc for more info.
PS :
Pfsense is not supported rather tested on this model of proliant servers.
Supported operating systems for DL140 G2 are :
Microsoft Windows├В┬о 2000 Server (32-bit)
Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server (32-bit)
Microsoft Windows 2003 Standard Edition (32-bit)
Microsoft Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition (32-bit)
Microsoft Windows 2003 Web Edition (32-bit)
Microsoft Windows 2003 for Extended Systems Standard Edition (64-bit)
Microsoft Windows 2003 for Extended Systems Enterprise Edition (64-bit)
Red Hat Linux AS/ES/WS 3.0 and 4.0 (32- and 64-bit)
SUSE Linux 8 (32-bit)
Thanks and Regards
Vishu.

Re: DL 140 Configuration
Thanks for the help. I will try this solution.
I also want to ask that which driver should i use. The storage drivers are specialized for operating systems but does not the driver need to be independent of os?
I found this one, is it true?
http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/27296.html
I have an USB floppy. If i put the driver to a floopy and boot the server with that disk, do you think it will work? Since there is no os and hd server prints no os found and stops there.
I have been trying many ways for 2 days so forgive my questions if they are too much. I suppose i am looking for the exact solution
Thanks in advance
Cem

Re: DL 140 Configuration
You might want to have a look at the following link.

They are having the exact same problem caused by a out of date version of pfSense being used.
