DL 145 boot problem

DL 145 boot problem

I installed Redhat ES 3.0 on the DL 145.

When I boot up, the POST displays (finds) my IDE hard disk. But when I access the BIOS, hard disk is not found either in the IDE configuration or in the boot device menu.

I can't boot to the OS because the hard disk is not identified as a boot device.

Any ideas welcomed :-)

Re: DL 145 boot problem

Hello Joonatan,

1.Is there a scsi controller too in the server and BIOS?
2.What are the options in the boot device order and boot controller(if available)?
3.How did RHEL3 see the disks?

Yes in the server, but the BIOS doesn't show it. There is no hard disk attached to it though.

1. LSI MPI boot support
2. Broadcom MBA
3. Broadcom MBA

I don't actually know. I did the LinuxCOE install over the network, it completed ok.

POST shows that it regognizes the disk as HBA 1.

Thanks.
