DL 360 G5 's smart array controller e200i with 128mb of ram

I upgraded a DL 360 G5 's array controller (e200i) with 128 mb of ram and every time you restart the server (not shutdown) it doesn't initialize. When i shutdown and power on ... it works perfectly. So basicly i have to avoid restarting the server :((

It shows the following error when the server restarts:

SLOT 0 HP SMART ARRAY E200I CONTROLLER
1783 - SLOT 0 DRIVE ARRAY CONTROLLER FAILURE
[COMMAND FAILURE (cmd=0h, err=0h, dlu=0fbf:0h)]

hi

so let me see if you put back 64 MB the server reboots without any issue? or error?
you have the same with the 2 controllers (e200)?

------
1783-Slot X Drive Array Controller Failure

Audible Beeps: None

Possible Cause: Controller failed. If this message is displayed after Options ROMPaq is run, problems may have occurred while attempting to flash the ROM.

Action:
1. Reseat the array accelerator module.
2. Reseat the controller in the PCI slot.
3. If the problem persists, replace the array controller.

Yes ... the same with 2 controllers ... so i don/t think the controller is bad ...
I replaced the ram module (128mb) too and nothing :(

The 128 ram module has a battery ... but it does the same with or without the batery connected ...

hi

weird that with the 128 you get that error and with 64 does not...
and also you already replaced the 128 memory and the sam

what is the part number for the 128 memory?
128MB Battery-Backed Write Cache
351580-B21?

OK let's try this update the firmware for the controller

it can using Firmware Cd 7.9
http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/27783.html

or for the controller itself

Re: DL 360 G5 's smart array controller e200i with 128mb of ram

i upagraded the controller's firmware to 1.66 and still no change :(

i tried to replace the e200i controller with e400i controller but when i start the server with the e400i it doesn't even power the controller ... it's like there's no controller there ...

Re: DL 360 G5 's smart array controller e200i with 128mb of ram

ok

1. using e200 remove HDDs.
2. using e200 remove data cables.

with the two scenarios check if you get the same issue
