DL 380 G3 & DL 360

I am having an issue where the server is recognizing 4 processors in my DL 380 G3 which only supports 2 CPU's. I also have 4 new DL360 recognizing 2 CPU's, but the system only has one. The Softpaq installed in 6.40a, and windows 2000 installed with SP4.

Re: DL 380 G3 & DL 360

Hello Eddie,
Just reboot your servers which are showing an incorrect number of CPUs. During POST you would be prompted for F9. Go to Advanced options and disable HyperThreading. This should take care of your problem. Please let me know how you make out.

Is this behavior by design? If so, will I see performance degredation by disabling hyperthreading? Will it cause an issue with the OS?

Hello Eddie,
Yes HyperThreading is enabled by default. There are certain applications which require HT. You won't see any performace degradation by disabling HT. I have attached a document for you to read. I am sure those will clear any doubts you may have in your mind. Here is a link as well:
