DL 380 G3 over heating?

We've been running our new server for about 4 months now without a hitch. The last two days we have been having some issues on our legacy application. It is starting to look like that the server is overheating. I am working remotely and don't have immediate access to it but will be there in two weeks.

My question is, is there any known issue with it overheating easily? What I've noticed when I have been in contact via the phone that the fans go up and down in speeds. It is a slow change in speed but it is definitely noticable. It is not currently in an enclosure or rack right now. It is simply sitting on top of a desk. This is a temporary setup for two more months. Then everything goes back to the main office where a new rack will be waiting.

Is there any software I can install on a workstation to monitor the internal temperature? We are running Window 98/XP. The server is running Novell 6.0.

Thanks for any info...
