Re: DL 380 G5 different sized disks logical volumes

Hi, do you want to add more physical drives?
And they are larger than the ones you already have in?
Then yeah, add the new ones in a new array.
Then in that array create a(or as many as you want) new logical drive(s).

Re: DL 380 G5 different sized disks logical volumes

HY,
i have buy four **bleep** for my DL 380G5.
Now I have to create a new raid with four disks.
Simple operation.
The operating system is Linux.
What should I do after I create the RAID and reboot the server?

the new partition will be recognized and mounted automatically?
I have to pay attention to something?
thanks

Re: DL 380 G5 different sized disks logical volumes

  1. create array with acu
  2. create logical drive with acu
  3. reboot if you want to (there are other ways to rescan scsi bus)
  4. then you need to create partition, maybe format it, etc. See the commands fdisk and mkfs.

And the mount command to manually mount disk, fstab to do it on boot.

What filesystem are you going to use? Do/should you fine tune it for your application needs?
