DL 380 G5 service startup error
Hi,
we are having and issue with the DL380 G5 in that when it boots it comes up with a 'At least one service or driver failed during system startup' e.t.c.
This actually refers to the service 'HP Proliant system shutdown service' which has a dependancy of the driver 'cpqasm2.sys'
this driver is available and in the correct place. Updating the systems management drivers and the iLO driver & firmware has not helped, Running Windows 2003 SP1
From other forums and the alike it seems to suggest its the iLO and this seems to be different from the DL380 G4's the firmware date for the iLO is Nov 17 2006, Firmware version 1.26, H/W version 7.
Has anyone else had this issue ?
TIA

Re: DL 380 G5 service startup error
That's the systems management driver and not for the ILO. The one for the ILO is Cpqcidrv.sys. Is this driver actually starting?
I've seen situations where DEP within 2003 w/SP1 causes this. Try to disable DEP by going into the boot.ini and modifying the noexecute switch with AlwaysOff (temporarily for testing). More info can be found here:

The truth is out there, but I forgot the URL..
