DL 380 G6 - Slow File access then stops

I have a DL 380 G6 running Windows 2008 64bit.

The server will run for a couple of days "normally". Then at random intervals, the server will start slowing down in both saving files and opening files. Small files like PDF files. Eventually, the server stops "serving" files. You can browse and see the files, you just cannot open them.

Reboot fixes the issue - for a random interval of time.

HI,

U can check that issue by updating proliant support pack and firmware. Both of these u acn download from HP web site.

Or maybe it's an OS issue? Patches installed?

Which conroller? Which drives? RAID configuration? Did you install the latest firmware on drivers, controller and system board? What errors in the event viewer? Any BSOD? Is it 2008 64-bit or 2008 R2 64-bit?

Check the controller cache settings to make sure they did not change. Did you change anti-virus settings? Any errors in event viewer. You might need to upgrade the firmware on the controller and drives for the new drivers.
