DL 380
I have a server that just becomes unresponsive and I have to hard reboot it. Only mesage I receive from the logs is "ASR Detected by System ROM." Did you ever get a solution? The only application loaded, which is not in full production, is Sharepoint.

Re: DL 380
Hi
Have you tried the latest firmware update cd on the server?
You can download the latest cd image from here> http://h18000.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/22722.html
Just burn to a cd with an image creation utility and boot the server with it.
If you are still getting a problem then you may have a fan/temperature issue.

Re: DL 380
ASR means "Automatic System Restart". The problem is that you don't know what caused the lockup. The mainboard of Proliants have a monitor which will do things if the system stays dead for 10 min. After 10 tries, it will stay down.
Install the latest support packs, and upgrade to the latest version of the firmware available. The idea is you want to find out what's causing the lockup.
Is there anything in the Integrated Maintenance Log (Start/Compaq system tools/integrated management log viewer).

Re: DL 380
Hi
The reason for the ASR can be few of them,
- like other have suggested it is always best to upgrade all the firmware to the latest
- run system diagnostics on the sever to make sure there are no hardware issues
