DL 385 G1 and Hyper-V

Hi,

I have DL385 G1 running VMWARE ESX 2.5, is it posible for me to run Microsoft Hyper-V on that server insted of VMWARE?

I think it got AMD Opteron 275 2,2Ghz Dual Core cpus

I don't see a problem. Windows server 2008 x64 is supported on this server and there are hp drivers for it and the CPU should support it. Even though I think there is an issue with Hiper-V and iLO. You can use iLO with no problems, but when trying to access a virtual machine using iLO the mouse and keyboard functionality does work properly, but VMWARE doesn't have that issue.

That's the issue I was talking about Hiper-V and ILO, but seems to have a solution. Even though similar thing happens with remote desktop

hi there I have a dl385 G1

Can you tell me the bios level & workarounds to get hyper V installed.

It wont let me add it as a role in windows
(windows2008 R2 x64)

According to the ProLiant Server Support Matrix for Windows it's not supported

there are some CPU compatability issues with Hyper-v, so that is why it will not allow you to load the component
