DL 580 G7 208 - Memory Board Error
Hello All,
Our DL580 G7 Server loaded with VMware 4.1 has rebooted automatically and found a 208- Memory Board Error in IML logs. so we have swapped the Memory riser into another slot and found that some issue with memory board and not memory.
Here my question is all of the sudden how this board has a issue. My another 5 DL580 G7 server is running fine.
Could you guys please tell me the possible root cause for this issue..
Thanks in Advance,
AST

Re: DL 580 G7 208 - Memory Board Error
I looked in the "HP ProLiant DL580 G7 Server
Maintenance and Service Guide".
What is this memory riser? Is that what HP calls the 'memory cartridge'?
If you swapped cartridges and you still see a problem in the same memory cartridge slot, maybe the problem is on the memory board or wherever that cartridge actually connects?

Re: DL 580 G7 208 - Memory Board Error
Hello,
Yes. that is memory cartridges. I found that there is no issue with memroy cartridges and same has been working in other slots. There is a problem in board.
I need to know how this board issue occured suddenly. Any possible power issues if so my other servers are working fine.
Thanks and Regards,
AST

Have you checked the firmwares? Maybe a newer one has a fix for memory issues?
