DL 585 G1 - Event ID 11
Controller Smart Array 6400, Rev B, v.2.62
Windows server 2003 x64, SP1
Driver Version: 5.14.4.64
The external array is a dual bus enclosure.
This is a primary production server. It cannot be taken offline without very high confidence that the solution is viable.
Firmware update CP008273.exe may address the issue based on the following fixes:
# Fixed an issue that would downshift the entire bus for a single parity error.
# Fixed a bus fault issue on dual bus I/O modules.
Firmware upgrades can turn out very badly. I would really appreciate some input on this as a probable solution before I apply the upgrade. If this is a known issue and there are alternate solutions, please don't be shy.
Thank you.

Re: DL 585 G1 - Event ID 11
Clearly the fault remains with the old firmware & drivers. I think, you need to take time to BACKUP, schedule a downtime; & update.
Since you mention that its an IMPORTANT server; I would plan & check for ALL updates that this server requires; Also if possible, have an Alternative solution ready, for situations we don't want to discuss about. Having said that, Such updates are HARMLESS, unless this server ALREADY have an unresolved issue, which acts as a disaster waiting to happen.
Be Positive.
;) Regards.
