DL 760 G2 auto shutdown

hi,

i have DL 760 G2 with windows 2003 enterprise edition. My problem is, the server perform auto shutdown when ups R3000XR connected to it. I already uninstall HP Rack and Power Manager 1.1 at that server but same thing happend when i tried to connect back the ups using com port.

Pls help.

Does that ups shutdown every server it's connected to? ie: Did you try a different server?

Auto shutdown, what type of notification you get?

Reset BIOS
Pause Server at POST and connect Cable, see what happened
Verify Cable, good, not Good, HP or third Party?
Safe Mode

The ups shutdown only happend on this server.

Hi,

This often happens when the wrong UPS serial cable is used. The server may shut down immediately the serial cable is attached to the comm port. Make sure you have the correct cable and not one from an older Compaq UPS or an APC model. They differ in pinouts from each other so if its wrong then you may auto-shutdown.

The correct serial cable for the R3000XR model ups is part number 204508-001.
