DL120 G6 Embedded SATA RAID - Debian driver?

Hello!

I have an issue with a DL120 G6.
The server is a smart buy, that comes with the "HP Embedded 6 Port SATA Controller".
The server actually has 2 SATA drives, and we want to create an RAID1.

We need to use "Debian 5.0.4 Kernel 2.6.32-24 64 Bits" or "Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Server Kernel 2.6.32-24 64 Bits" OS.

We can configure the raid 1 in the POST, but, when the OS starts, it shows 2 physical drives, not just 1 drive, like should be in a RAID 1 configuration.

Support said that Debian and Ubuntu aren't supported for this server, but, this is the costumer's standard, so, we must use it.

Is there any way to solve this?
Is there any Linux driver that could function?

Thanks!

You should either try a driver from the supported Linux-es, which is not a good idea, or install a real raid controller, the P212.

That controller is probably from Adaptec.
You might be able to find some source codes on the Adaptec site that you can use to build your own boot time install disks.
You could also try to use linux software raid but I believe that wont work for the boot partition.
