Re: DL120G6 + P212 + SSD

HI Wobbe,

SSD uses the SATA interface and P212 is a SAS controller so same SAS 4 line cables (591475-B21) can be used which supports SAS and SATA both.

DL120 G6 comes with the following options:

Entry and Base Model:
Integrated 6 Port SATA controller (HP Smart Array B110i SATA RAID Controller needs to be enabled from Bios) which does support SSD drives

NOTE: Transfer rate: 3 Gb/s SATA.
Hot Plug capability requires a Smart Array SAS Controller and the HP CA ASSY 384SATA to MINI-SAS Kit (P/N 591475-B21) must be ordered.

Performance Model:
HP Smart Array P212/256MB Controller (RAID 0/1/1+0/5/5+0)

coming to your query, Drive Model no mentioned in the PDF shared is not supported on HP DL120 G6 server as per quickspecs. please check support hdd options in quickspecs.

DL120 G6 does support solid state drive as per technical paper

hope this helps,

Thanks,

Re: DL120G6 + P212 + SSD

Thanks for the answer.

Because the configuration would not be supported I've decided to buy an Adaptec controller. (It's also a bit cheaper)

I'm going to it up with raid 0 and hopefully get some serious iops to run some db conversion tests.
