DL140 G2 BIOS recovery

I tried to upgrade the bios on a DL140 G2 server but the uprade failed and now the server is crashed. It couldn't boot and I don't have any console access. In the DL140 Setup and Installation Guide document there is written, that it is possible to recover the firmware by setting some switches on the mainboard and from the floppy booting some .ROM file. The problem is, that I don't know where can I get this file. I have downloaded the Firmware Maintenance CD, but there is no firmware for the DL140 G2 servers. Does somebody know, where can I get the .ROM file from?

Re: DL140 G2 BIOS recovery

Brian,
there is only a package file for BIOS upgrade. In this package there is no .ROM file.

C:\WINDOWS>dir a: /w
Volume in drive A is SYSROM
Volume Serial Number is 4153-4945

Directory of A:\

HIMEM.EXE CONFIG.SYS ROMPAQ.EXE CPQO0401.B0F CPQSRVRO.CPU README.1ST
NEWQERPQ.TXT
7 File(s) 627 688 bytes
0 Dir(s) 751 616 bytes free

C:\WINDOWS>

I renamed the CPQO0401.B0F to CPQO0401.ROM and tried to recover the BIOS but it didn't work.

Re: DL140 G2 BIOS recovery

I don't know for a DL140 but for a DL360, you can enable the 5th jumper. It will reset the CMOS to its default.

A description of the jumpers is written under the cap of the server.
