DL140 G2 Offline Diagnostics Fail to Boot

Hi, recently one of my DL140 G2's has been failing and on two occasions the server emitted a high pitched alarm for several minutes after boot. I'm trying to start the offline diagnostics, but at detecting hardware I get:

/wake line 121 .. 503 Segmentation Fault ... kudzu -q ...

Any ideas? I really need this server back in the green.

thanks.

Re: DL140 G2 Offline Diagnostics Fail to Boot

Bart,

I'm not sure if the offline diagnostics work on the ML/DL100 series.

You should be able to go into the Phoenix BIOS however (F10 at POST) and to the Advanced section to look at the IPMI event log contents. You may get a better idea of your problem from the information held there.

The attached document should also go some way to helping you identify the problem.

I hope this helps.

Re: DL140 G2 Offline Diagnostics Fail to Boot

This is the HP Insight Diagnostics Offline Edition for DL140 G2 & DL145 G2 :

Better first upgrade the firmware if it's not the latest :

Check Systemboard LEDs. Can you boot the OS?
Errormessages in logs?
