DL140 G3 Drive Caddy/Enclosure

Dear All,

We need to fit a second SATA hard disk (non-HP) into our DL140 G3 E5335 servers. Where can we purcahse the HP drive caddy/enclosure.

We tried on the HP site and could not locate this.

If you mean the plastic around the HDD - they don' offer it.

Inserting any non-HP hardware on a Proliant server is not supported, and you cannot expect HP to provide an adapter / modified firmware / special driver to make it work.
What's wrong with HP SATA disks?

Cost.

We need 50 hard disks. By using non-HP disks we save £5500.
