DL140 G3 RAID

I have reset the bios on our DL140 but now we can not get the system to use the raid controller, we no longer have the F8 option during start up and the lights no longer light up on the sata raid controller since resetting the bios. Does any one have any ideas? is there some thing i am missing in the bios to turn it back on?

Re: DL140 G3 RAID

hi

To enable the F8 option on your controller

Get into the Bios (F10)
- Advance
- Advance Chipset control
* Serial ATA -> Enable
* SATA Controller Mode Option -> Enhanced
* SATA RAID Enable -> Enabled
- Save and Exit

Re: DL140 G3 RAID

thanks Karlo but the following didnt work,
Get into the Bios (F10)
- Advance
- Advance Chipset control
* Serial ATA -> Enable
* SATA Controller Mode Option -> Enhanced
* SATA RAID Enable -> Enabled
- Save and Exit

there was no *SATA RAID Enable, it is no longer there since the bios was reset.

i am not sure why the admins did it, we have managed to get the F8 working but now no drives are detecting in the RAID utility.

Re: DL140 G3 RAID

Sorry for jumping in on this thread but i am having a similar problem. My RAID controller is not detecting any hard drives in the server. I have reseated everything but no good. I plugged a hard drive directly into the system board and it is detected that way but not through the HP 8 Internal Port SAS HBA. The server is straight out of the box. Is there anything I would need to do to get the controller to detect the HDDs? Thanks in advance.
