DL140 G3 Upgrading CPU but does it matter which XEON i buy

For instance there are two xeon im looking at, one is considerably cheaper than the other.

THIS ONE IS DEARER BUT STATES THE PART NUMBER

Yes.

BTW, the CPU you're looking at isn't listed as being supported in the DL140 G3.

Look in here for supported CPU option numbers:

HP states to always use CPU modules from HP. There are many threads in here from users who tried to use non-HP CPU modules and found that they don't work in Proliants.
