DL140 G3 doesn't see all installed RAM
Hi,
The DL140G3 has 8 RAM slots and two processors. My system has only one processor.
I have put 2GB HP RAM modules in slots 1, 3, 5, 7, and 1GB HP RAM modules in slots 2, 4, 6, and 8. This is a total of 12GB.
System BIOS only reports seeing 8GB of RAM. How do I get it to see all 12GB?
The documentation for some DL servers says that you need both processors installed to use max RAM, but I don't see that for the DL140 G3. The quickspec just says "max RAM 32GB (4GB x 8 slots)", without mentioning any requirement to add a second processor.
Have I installed the modules in the right order given that I am using two different sizes?
Would it help to change the RAM settings in the BIOS? Right now I am using the default settings of Interleave, 4x.
Thanks for any advice.
Regards,
Mike Gilbert
