DL140

I have been given a DL140 with 2x300gb sas drives to build, I have gone through the LSI array config and selected raid 1. I have synchronize the array, Activated the array, but every time I start up with windows 2003 server with SP1 it claimes that I have no hard disk drives, it all looks correct in the bios and on boot the drive is detected witht the correct size but it fails to install.

If somone has an idea or suggestion please let me know, this is the first of this model I have come accross, normaly use smartstart and know where I am with that.

Re: DL140

hi Stephen

first of all
the point is 100 Series server do not support smartstart that's why

second of all
if you are configuring RAID level properly you must use a USB floppy drive or use nlite, why?

because W2003 does include the driver for your controller so you need to press F6 when Windows request press F6 to load additional drivers, this F6 option is in case you decide to use a USB floppy drive but
If you decide to use nlite you wont need to press F6 because nlite will include the driver, nlite ia an application that creates unattended windows CDs

OK so the point is you need the driver
I suppose it is a Dl140 G3

There is an advisory (but link for driver s dead that's why I added the actual link for the driver)
