DL140G3 LO100 serial console from CENTOS5(RHEL5)

I am trying to use serial console over LO100 on some G3s.

I run a getty on ttyS0 by putting
"T0:23:respawn:/sbin/agetty 115200 ttyS0 vt100" in /etc/inittab. I can then log into the LO100 interface using telnet and attach the serial console with Esc-Q. This shows the centos login screen as expected, however carriage return is sent twice when pressed.

BIOS settings doesn't seem to have any effect. I tried various Console Type-settings with no change. I even get the same behaviour when Console Redirection is set to Disabled.

Toggling crlf from to in telnet doesn't help either.

any ideas?
