DL145 G2 Win2003x64 - can't install any drivers

Install of Windows Server 2003 R2 x64 works fine, but almost no devices recognised. Anything I try to run from the Server Support CD (v3), selecting either Server2003 or Server2003x64 fails with "The image file x is valid, but for a machine type other than the current machine."

Now, at least *one* of the image files should be OK - it won't recognise x32 or x64. So, I don't have any valid chipset or network drivers loaded, the server is a dead duck. Downloading from the HP site and transferring via USB flash doesn't work as no matter what network driver set I try to install, it says that it can't find the hardware. And, there is no chipset driver on the HP site for the DL145G2. Aaaargh!!!

Hi Milton Baar

I think this thread could help you

http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1071773

just check if you have these components in your server

Integrated Dual Broadcom 5721 10/100/1000 NICs (Wake on LAN and PXE capable)

AMD 8132 Chipset for PCI-X support and NVIDIA nForce Professional 2200 MCP for PCI Express

regards

Excellent - that worked fine. So, I wonder why HP managed to ship a CD that won't work? We have several DL145s (not G2 or G3) running Win2003x64 and they shipped with the v1 support CD which installed fine.

Thanks for your help!
