DL145 G2 - boot from USB flash?

Can't see the option in BIOS - have selected removable but it doesn't see the USB flash.

Insert the USB key before going in to the BIOS.
You should be seeing it under BOOT ORDER > Removable MEDIA.

as u say u dont, Check if the USB KEY is good; alternatively, try another USB port.

Also, refer:

Hi,

The 100 serie of ProLiants don't have legacy USB support, this means you can use the USB after the drivers are loaded.

Refer to
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/platforms/usb-support.html#1

for legacy USB support :

Kind Regards,
Pac

OK, so the USB flash is inserted before power on, the BIOS indicates that it *does* have USB legacy support enabled.

I have the HP utilities to make a USB device bootable, but have no WIN98 devices so I can't load boot sectors onto the USB flash.

I have given up - even when I found Win98 boot sectors and used the HP tool, it wouldn't work.

I could boot on other servers, but *not* the Dl145G2.
