DL160 G5 does not pass POST

When I plug the power cord to the server, the fans of the power supply spin. The power led is green. However, there is no video output (The monitor and the video cable is good). There is no beep sound.

I check the POST problem flowchart on the "HP Proliant Servers Troubleshooting Guide", it mentioned to check the internal/external health LED and port 85 code. I don't know where is the internal/external health LED and where to check port 85 on the server. Please give me some information on this.

Thanks.

I would suggest you whip off the lid and check for red / amber LEDs on the mainboard. Although it sounds as if either a CPU or the mainboard has gone, if you have two CPUs then try them one at a time, oh and remove any extra cards, dimms etc, that may be installed.

I had the same thing happen with a couple of my severs and it was bad memory.
