DL160 G6 RAID install on RHEL5

I bought an DL160 G6 , i would like to use the raid 1 controller. How would i do that. I installed the driver but i do not know what i have to do...

Can you point me to the proper documentation

I assume you're referring to the Smart Array P410 controller?

May i ask of your disk configuration - how many disks do you have and which controller are they connected to?

From what i read on your post you've already installed a driver for the controller. So i take it that you already have RHEL5 installed? On what controller and disk(s) is the RHEL5 installed?

I have reinstalled RHEL 5.3 so it is a clean computer now

Actually i do not really now i want to use the built in RAID controller that comes with the Dl160 G6.

I have 2 sata disk the first one is connected to hda the second one is connecgted to hdc

Ok. It seems that the DL160 G6 integrated B110i is a software raid solution.

Please note that creating a RAID array from existing disks propably forces you to re-install the os on the RAID disk.

First, assign the SATA disks to the RAID (page 4 of the manual) from the server BIOS (F10 on bootup).

Second, create a logical drive (page 5) from ORCA (F8 on bootup).

After this, the array is ready for OS install. During the install you will most likely need the B110i driver, which is available from the DL160 G6 driver page.
