DL160G5 with L5410 CPU reports wrong CPU speed in Linux.

Hi,

We purchased a new DL160G5 with a L5410 CPU some weeks ago. We run the system under Centos 4.6 (kernel 2.6.9-67.ELsmp). This system correctly reports in /proc/cpuinfo:

model name : Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU L5410 @ 2.33GHz
cpu MHz : 2327.549

Now we purchased a completely identical system from HP which apparently has a newer BIOS though. The funny thing is that we now see this in /proc/cpuinfo:

model name : Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU L5410 @ 2.33GHz
cpu MHz : 2003.000

Also the BogoMips value is much lower now (3991.38 vs. 4657.86).

We checked the BIOS settings of both systems (as I said, the newer, slower system has a newer BIOS) and tried to make sure that all settings are the same. Still the newer system reports the lower speed. In addition it not only reports the lower speed, it *IS* slower when installing our application on it.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks // Tom
