DL165 G5 / OS Installation from USB / Thumb Drive
I do purchase of DL165 G5 for 5 units, the vendor not supply me with the CD/DVD ROM. Also this server is not hook up to the SAN. DL165 G5 not supported with Smart Start except the CD Bootable Diagnostic Utility.
Can i use front USB to boot with my OS Linux / Windows is copied to the 8GB thumb drive.
Please advice me any step to do ; or any white paper as guideline.
Do try for few days; failed to do; need opinion.

so yo are trying to install Linux - windows booting from USB Key
which windows? which linux?
which errors you get when you say you failed?
any specific procedure you follow

Seem it's not any error; What i mean by the error is seem it not recognize the USB that i have hook to the front USB port. Windows 2003 and RHEL 4 AS.
Any other upfront setting do i need to do before put in the USB.
