DL180 G5 Memory trouble

Hello!

We have 2 memory module  1G 1Rx4 PC2 - 5300P - 555 - 12 - H2  in 1 and  2 slots. With It installed server works well.

Now I try to add 2 more modules   2Gb 2Rx8 PC2 - 5300U - 555 - 12 - E3 in 3 an 4 slots. And server doesn't start . It makes beeps only.

I tried to install only 2x2Gb modules  in 1,2 slots. It has no result.

What wrong? why doesn't is work?

Does DL180 g5 support only ECC memory?

It's because of non hp dimms, but that's just an assumption.

Does  the HP lock servers to their own memory only? =(

No however the FB-DIMM technology was pretty wonky about the proper ECC FB-DIMM.

Sounds like you should try a different brand FB-DIMM I like Avant memory!
