DL180 G6 low network speed with Windows 7 client

We have:

1. New DL180 G6 server with clear installed Windows 2003 Server x64 R2 system
2. Clients with Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP (Active Directory, Domain)

All clients are working with this server on full network speed (100Mb) except clients with Windows 7. Upload speed from Windows 7 to the server is fine but with download speed we have a problems: when start download a big file the speed is about 12KB but after several minutes it increases to full speed. After this we can work some minutes on full speed with this server but after rebooting clients - the problem comes again.

This issue occurs only with this server and clients on Windows 7. These clients are work fine with other old HP servers on the same OS (and with other clients also).

The local dealer said the problem known - disagreement security of operating systems. But then the problem would be with the other servers.

We have changed the cables, connectivity ports, connect directly to the server - no results.

Has anyone solved this problem?

Drivers/firmware on clients and server?
Any configuration on the OS on either side that might alleviate this?
What protocol do you use to copy files?

Maybe you could try with something else. For example ftp.

On server - from disk (we bought the server on last week) and up to date (I've just verified). On Windows 7 client (notebooks) - all is up to date

SMB and also RDP (with integrated Windows Remote desktop Client). RDP has the same problem

Unfortunately no

Today we change OS on one client with Windows 7 on Windows XP - works fine :(

Anyway, the Problem appears to be software/configuration related.

Either on the server or maybe more likely on the client.

Some spontaneous ideas:

Network settings are they identical, or maybe they are identical/bad.

I presume that when you use RDP (to connect a network drive) it uses SMB in the background.

Is there a way to configure/tune SMB on the server and the client?

Maybe it's some kind of authorization problem/delay?

Is it possible to debug an SMB connection/transfer - to get some verbose logging and see what is happening?

Errors in eventlog etc
