DL180 Lost DVD\RW

I just got a new DL180 and trying to load Windows Server 2003 R2 64bit and after the system has loaded the HP easy start cd and the o\s and boots up the dvd\rw is gone. It sees it in bios and boot up screen but when windows engages the cd is lost. I have a error in the hardware manager but nothing seems to get rid of it. I have tried the removal of the lower and upper on the cd key in the registry and I have tried to load new drivers only no one seems to have them for this drive. HP says it is windows problem and windows says it is not their problem. any help would be great.

Re: DL180 Lost DVD\RW

Just had the same issue with a DL180 G6 but with server 2003 32 bit. HP support advised to change the Sata#1 Controller mode config in the BIOS to 'Compatible' mode. After that windows booted up, detected the missing devices and the drive appeared again. Hope this helps you.
