ls: Zugriff auf /sys/bus/scsi/devices/6:0:1:0/ nicht möglich: Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden

   physicaldrive 1I:1:0 (port 1I:box 1:bay 0, 600.1 GB): OK
   physicaldrive 1I:1:0 (port 1I:box 1:bay 0, 600.1 GB): OK
   physicaldrive 1I:1:0 (port 1I:box 1:bay 0, 600.1 GB): OK

   physicaldrive 1I:1:0 (port 1I:box 1:bay 0, 600.1 GB): OK
   physicaldrive 1I:1:0 (port 1I:box 1:bay 0, 600.1 GB): OK

Re: DL180 hpacucli shows all drives in one slot

Hi,

It looks like a communication fault which could happen by a dodgy disk, putting in the disks too quickly all at once or

older firmware.

The server cannot go down, so because the disks arent functioning I would remove these disks one by one, then put them back 1 by 1 and wait about 20 seconds before you put in the next disks. Wait untill all the leds are properly working and all.

If not create an adu file and let me take a look

Re: DL180 hpacucli shows all drives in one slot

Dear Holger_Ernst,

Is there a 2nd smart array controller installed?

If so, could you please capture run the command ctrl all show and provide us the output.

Alternatively, try to remove all HDDs and install one by one as recommended above.

Then once you install 1st hard disk check the status from the hp acucli

Re: DL180 hpacucli shows all drives in one slot

how it is reflecing in Smart Array controller, Looks like Raid card has booked the slots in Raid -5.

1) Have a look in Smart Array controllers and should be inspected.

2) Verfiy the Existing Raid configuration on the server.

Re: DL180 hpacucli shows all drives in one slot

Hello Holger_Ernst

Wrong informations reported with the Array Configuration utility about the Port, Box and Bay usually are related to the Backplane disks, so, this could be electrical issue happen during installation of the hard drives or could be related to the firmware of the backplane.

(The latest firmware version of the Backplane is 2.20(28 Feb 2013))

I need more details in order to share a complete action plan, below info needed:

  • Status of the disks before adding the new disks?
  • Generate an ADU report (#hpaducli –f report.zip ) before and after adding the HDDs

Thank you

Re: DL180 hpacucli shows all drives in one slot

Hi Leslie

I removedthe additional drives as recommended then did a rescan but now the remaining disks (which are containing a working ld) are shown like this:

hpacucli ctrl slot=1 pd all show

Smart Array P410 in Slot 1

   array A

      physicaldrive 1I:1:0 (port 1I:box 1:bay 0, SAS, 600.1 GB, OK)
      physicaldrive 1I:1:0 (port 1I:box 1:bay 0, SAS, 600.1 GB, OK)
      physicaldrive 1I:1:0 (port 1I:box 1:bay 0, SAS, 600.1 GB, OK)
      physicaldrive 1I:1:0 (port 1I:box 1:bay 0, SAS, 600.1 GB, OK)
      physicaldrive 1I:1:0 (port 1I:box 1:bay 0, SAS, 600.1 GB, OK)

And I can not remove these while system is up.

You suggested an adu file. How do I create one?

Re: DL180 hpacucli shows all drives in one slot

ADU report can be saved from HP Array Configuration Utility or from HP Smart Storage Administrator.

CLI commands:

hpacucli ctrl all diag file=/tmp/adureport.zip ris=on xml=on zip=on

hpssacli ctrl all diag file=/tmp/adureport.zip ris=on xml=on zip=on

proxmox-host2:~# hpacucli ctrl all diag file=/tmp/adureport.zip ris=on xml=on zip=on

Error: Invalid command. Type "help" for a list of valid commands.

It seems to me it is an old version of hpacucli running here?

 ACU CLI Version: 8.25-5.0

Re: DL180 hpacucli shows all drives in one slot

Could you please confirm the server model?

How many disk slots the server has?

SFF or LFF?

DL180 (G1) / G5 / G6 / Gen9

Look at this:

http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=c02745406

Looks quite similar. In this case the disk backplane firmware is the problem.

If your server have one, connect to ILO and check the disk status, there you can see the disk backplane firmware.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.
