DL180G6 change backplane from 4LFF to 8 LFF what to consider regarding the RAID volumes

We have a DL180G6 that needs a HD upgrade. Currently this is a 4LFF machine and this is our plan:

  • remove all drives
  • remove 4LFF cage and backplane
  • install 8 LFF cage and backplane from an old decomissioned machine
  • plug in drives again
  • go

Currently there are 4 drives in it which make up 2 RAID 1 arrays.

Question is: What do I have to consider, if anything? Can I just plug in the drives into the new backplane and the RAID configs stay healthy? Controller stays the same (P410)

Thanks for any advise! Oliver
