I plan to buy a used DL320 G1 server with 70GB SCSI disks, which i'd like to swap to 2 500GB SATA disks, using a PCI SATA controller. Browsing this forum it looks like to me that the DL320 can boot from a PCI add-on card, i just want to be sure about it before i buy the server.
Any help much appreciated!
Tamas

Re: DL320 G1 PCI SATA boot
However, buying official parts for an aging Compaq server may cost a bit more than my budget, so i'm more interested in using some cheap SATA controller, like the Kouwell 571S. I know that they aren't supported officially and won't be covered by warranty, i just would like to know if they work or not.
Anyways, thanks again!
