DL320 G2 Fan Noise - using RHE 3.0

I have a couple of these servers, and when I run them with Windows, the proper drivers get loaded to turn down the fan, but using RHE, that's not happening. Anyone know how to make this quiet? It's amazing they let these leave the factory like this.

While I'm at it, do you happen to know if the hardware mirror will still work with RHE? It seemed to see the two drives as non-mirrored, so I told it only to use the first drive. Do I need to do anything else?

Thx!

Re: DL320 G2 Fan Noise - using RHE 3.0

Hello,

Install the System Management Driver for RHE 3.0 available at http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/20499.html

This should control the fan speed.

If you have a Hardware mirror,it will work under RHE also.Which Array controller is installed in the system?

Thanks for the link. I'll confirm here how it goes.

There is no array controller, just the integrated controller which is capable of mirroring the drives.

Hi,

Storage Controllers

1)Integrated Ultra ATA/100 Controller Module

2) Integrated Single Channel Wide Ultra3 SCSI Controller Module (Optional)

Which one we are using.
