DL320 G4, PCI-X Riser Card, 8 Port PCI serial Card, error...

Dear all,

I apologise in advance if this has been discussed before, I have looked through the old postings and could not find any matches...

I'm trying to install a QUATECH 8 port PCI serial card "P/N ESCLP-100" INTO a HP ProLiant DL320 G4...

Here is my hardware:

HP ProLiant DL320 G4, Single 3.0/800 GHz Intel dual core, 2GB, 1 x 160GB SATA 7200 Internal Drive, 64-bit/133 MHz PCI-X to PCI-Express conversion kit P/N 417135-B21, installed into slot 1 (it will only fit in slot 1).

I have the latest bios, ver2008.07.18

When the server boots, I'm getting the error:
Unsupported PCI Card Detected. Remove PCI Card from Slot 1. SYSTEM HALTED!

Quatech have advised that the 8 port serial card is 3.3 & 5 volt compatible.

I have tried this in 3 servers, using 2 riser cards, and 2 serial cards. The serial cards work in other devices.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

David Bell.
