DL320 G5 Windows SBS 2008 with RAID 1 installation
I'm having some issues with SBS2008 instalation with RAID enabled.
SATA RAID is enabled, RAID 1 is configured. During the instalation of SBS 2008, system lists two hard drives instead of one RAID device. I'm using HP ProLiant Smart Array 5x and 6x Controller Driver for Windows Server 2003/2008 x64 Editions (without it sbs2008 cannot find any drive). Installing system on one of the listed drives, makes it crash on every bootup.
Where is the problem?

Re: DL320 G5 Windows SBS 2008 with RAID 1 installation
I ended up slipstreaming in the SAS Array Driver into the the Windows Installation using nlite.
My issue was the BL260c and teh fact the HP Software & Drivers page for the server didn't actually include the correct driver to slipstream in. Thankfully someone on one of these forums pointed me to the right one.
But the slipstreamed CDinstall worked really well.
If you google nlite you might find the same kind of info I got as well as guides on how to use it.

Re: DL320 G5 Windows SBS 2008 with RAID 1 installation
if your controller is SATA you have to use the SATA driver the embedded not a 5x or 6x
if you enabled RAID and after that got into F8 array configuration and configure a RAID 1
you should use this driver
I will assume it is W2008 x32

but it doesn't work. Using it makes SBS2008 to see only 2 separate HD's, not single RAID drive. RAID1 is configured, SATA RAID is enabled.

Re: DL320 G5 Windows SBS 2008 with RAID 1 installation
Finally I installed SBS2008 with SATA RAID disabled. Then I enabled SATA RAID, configured and rebuilded RAID. After that SBS2008 crashed on boot up. Then I started to install SBS2008 again. During installation I was again using the same driver to SATA RAID. This time SBS2008 detected RAID partition and I was able to install it further without problems.
I was using HP ProLiant Smart Array 5x and 6x Controller Driver for Windows Server 2003/2008 x64 Editions (http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=pl&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=3201178&prodNameId=3288095&swEnvOID=4024&swLang=8&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=MTX-c0d3a81b502b4bf1993352c00d)
