DL320 G6 Hot Plug and B110i
Hello,
I have a situation where a customer of mine bought a DL320 G6 470065-447.
It is a configuration with Hot Plug backplane, hot plug 500GB SATA drives and default b110i storage controller.
Customer is trying to install raid 1 but it is being asked for a license key.
I double checked the product bulletin and it says:
HP Smart Array B110i SATA RAID Controller (RAID 0/1/1+0)
NOTE: SATA Hot Plug available via Hot Plug Advance Pack for B110i
It should support Raid 1 and since it is a configuration directly from HP I doubt they screwed with the hot plug implementation without adding the appropriate licenses.
How can I proceed from here?
Thanks
Deni

Re: DL320 G6 Hot Plug and B110i
Question 1: Is the "Hot Plug Advance Pack for B110i" required for Hot Plug HDDs or Configuring Raid for Hot plug HDDs?
Question 2: Will the server work in a non Raid configuration without the "Hot Plug Advance Pack for B110i" but with hot plug HDDs?
Question 3: Can I get the server work and configure Raid without the "Hot Plug Advance Pack for B110i" with hot plug HDDs but without Hot Plug capabilities?
Question 4: If the "Hot Plug Advance Pack for B110i" is needed for Hot Plug HDDs to work, why would HP sell this "ready" configuration if it doesn't work?
Thanks
Deni
