DL360 FAN NOISE

Hi,

Already read a lot of issue's about the 'noisy fan' of the DL360 G2.

Yesterday we installed one of our with Windows Server 2003 and the same!

When you power the server on it keeps on blowing like a boeing 747 and keeps on going like that. When you power on the fans keep on having the same RPM the whole time even when windows loaded.

Even though there are many threats, we could not find the solutions.

Can somebody help us?

Thanks in advantage

Update the Firmware BIOS on that server...

Re: DL360 FAN NOISE

Keep in mind that this is a server not a desktop and never will be able to be described as purring like a kitten.

Fan control is exercised by the HP Advanced System Management Controller Driver delivered by the ProLiant Support Pack.

Re: DL360 FAN NOISE

I have the same issue on a DL360G2. Updated the server to the latest BIOS and PSP but the CPU fan - as reported by the system management homepage - starts at "high" and stays at high even after the OS loads, despite the internal temperatures being well below the thresholds.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks

Dave
