Trying 7.40 now. Says its supported.

7.40 worked like a charm. Everything on the server is the 100% latest and seems to be working great with the new raid controller firmware.

Yup! Installed debian today. Got scalix all setup. Were good to go!

Got up today, both drives are shown as failed.. I swapped them out and tried 2 other drives.. these show as failed a few minutes after running. This server refuses to keep the array togther. Any ideas?

get a array diagnostic utility to check whats happening but it can be that the backplane is failing...

reseat the SCSI backplane and also the cables

there are no cables and the back plane is securely attached. The drives have been in and out a few times they should be fine. I have a stack of 20 scsi drives.. All new.

I took apart the entire server and then reassembled it.. Still same deal. I don't understand whats going on.. Can the controller "fail"

ok according what you're saying 4 HDDs with amber LED so bad backplane or controller

so installed the firmware CD right?
