DL360 G1 - BIOS disabled

Hi Folks,
Acquired a DL360 recently;
BIOS is disabled, it says after / while booting.

I can configure the system allright with SmartStart CD.
But how can I change / reenable the BIOS access by pressing F9???

Thanks for your help.

Are there any option PCI cards in the system?

Re: DL360 G1 - BIOS disabled

I'm not very familiar with the system yet, but there is a scsi on board with on 18.2 GB drive connected; further I have connected a simple PCI raid card that offers me possibility to connect IDE / SATA harddrives.

Does that answer your question?

Also, there is a small card present on a separate connector (similar to the ones used in laptops to retain memory cards)situated between the fan assy and the PS.

Hi,

Remove any PCI Card connected on server and check is that re-appear or not.

Re: DL360 G1 - BIOS disabled

That was my suspicion. There is no harm in the 'BIOS is disabled' message--it is coming from the SCSI card. The SCSI card doesn't need to load its BIOS because the boot device is the SmartArray controller.

Re: DL360 G1 - BIOS disabled

Okay, thanks for your input;
But how come I don't get F9 appearing during bootup to enter the server's BIOS (Compaq BIOS - P21 15-11-2002)?

I should be able to enter the BIOS during bootup, shouldn't I?
