DL360 G3 BIOS ADMIN Password

We successfully set a password for the Admin account on several DL360 G3 servers. This password now needs to be reset. We went into F10 and selected Change Admin password (after successfully logging on with this password) and it says we cannot do this as it is locked. Checked the dip switch for this and it is set to unlocked. We had to do this for a DL380 and we managed to change the password no problem. How do we change the Admin password now it is set ???? Can any one respond asap ?????

Here is the info to reset the password:

SW2 - Maintenance Switches
Switch Default Function Description
S1 Off1 iLO Service Override Off = No function
On = Override iLO security enabled
S2 Off1 Configuration Lock Off = System configuration can be changed
On = System configuration is locked
S3 Off1 Reserved Reserved
S4 Off1 Floppy Disable Off = Disable floppy boot
On = Override RBSU setting and enable floppy boot
S5 Off1 Password Override Off = Honor RBSU password setting
On = Override RBSU setting and override password prompts
S6 Off1 Reset Configuration Off = No function
On = ROM reads system configuration as invalid and resets configuration
S7 Off1 Reserved Reserved
S8 Off1 Reserved Reserved
Note 1: "On" activates the function.

Thanks for the information. Why cannot we just change it in the BIOS it says it is locked but the dip switch is set to allow the system config to be changed ??

Which setting do I need to change from the list without damaging/changing the config of the server/data on it. ?? Toby

Hello Toby,
In the bank of dip switches the dip switch no 5 is the one which controlls the password.

S5 Off1
Password Override Off = Honor RBSU password setting
On = Override RBSU setting and override password prompts.

I know this was a long time ago, but I have the same problem. Flipped SW5, but now if I try to enter the BIOS I cant as the switch is set. I need to disable the admin password.

What do I do nexT?
