DL360 G3 getting lots of ASR's

Hey Guys,

A DL360 G3 we have still running is getting alot of ASR's at the moment. And I have no idea how to find out what is causing it.

Any help or ideas (or even solutions!) would be appreciated.

Cheers

Hi Gerald,

Firstly try disabling ASR. That should hopefully allow you to see exactly what's happening on the server when it 'hangs'...

Hi Gerald

What OS are you using? What apps are running on that server?

Do you have an additional RAID controller in that server or are you using the onboard controller?

Re: DL360 G3 getting lots of ASR's

Rob,

Good idea, something I had thought of, but had not actioned, thinking that there might be a way of finding a log of some sort that might show what is happening...

Andrew,

The server is running Windows 2003 SP2, and has been running fine for almost 3 years now. It just has two HDD's running off the onboard RAID controller.

Thanks for your responses guys!

Re: DL360 G3 getting lots of ASR's

I guess if the server has been running fine for a few years, you should try to ascertain what has changed recently...

Service Packs, PSPs (Proliant Support Packs), anti-virus engines...?

Re: DL360 G3 getting lots of ASR's

Maybe it's just getting tired and wants to retire or something...

Um, just been checking and no changed recently. AV has been stable for a long time now, Service Pack 2 was installed a while before the current problems and we have version 7.70A of the agents. I am going to update to 7.80 to see if it helps...

Thanks for all the replies, keep 'em up!

Re: DL360 G3 getting lots of ASR's

Given the recent thread about problems with 7.8 I'd be reluctant to go with that at the moment...
