DL360 G3 question

Hi.

My employer has given me an old, well ancient really, DL360 G3 that is now surplus to requirements. Unfortunately the only drives they can give me are 18Gb or 36Gb ones. When looking up the model number of one of them I noticed they are described as having an 80 pin SCSI interface. Does this mean that the server can take any 80 pin SCSI drives? Or are they restricted to HP/Compaq devices?

Re: DL360 G3 question

You coud try to repace the disks that are inside the hotplugable frame. I think this can be done.

Re: DL360 G3 question

My experience with SCSI enclosures that use 80 pin SCSI drives...any brand 80 pin SCSI 18g or 36g drive will work; IBM, Seagate, etc. Of course you can't mix the sizes on some types of RAID without the smallest restricting the size of the larger.
