I am tryin gto install PSP 8.15B on a DL360G5 running windows 2003.
the screen never gets past the discovery stage. I noticed that the process hpsum_hwdiscovery.exe cant be killed ( i tried pskill and it just stays there).
Anyone seen this before or know how to resolve the problem?
regards

Solution
Favad,
Do you have external fibre channel storage attached to the server? If so, what type? It is possible the hang is caused by a storage device that is not responding. You'll need to either disconnect the hardware causing the problem or use the BP*.CMD file that accompanies the PSP to install everything.

Re: DL360 G5 HPSUM just hangs at discovery
Yes - we have a MSA1500cs attached to this box over fibre channel. There are no LUNs presented to this server as it used solely to manage the MSA1500. i will try disconnecting the MSA and try it again - i assume the best wat to do this is to disable the ports on the FC switch. i will let you know how i get on
