DL360 G5 Mirror to Raid5 Config
Hi guys
I have a DL360 G5 with a 2 drives that are mirrored. I want to add a further drive to make this a Raid 5 array. Is this possible and can you forsee any problems. I can't afford to lose the data off these drives and im hoping to be able to break the mirror then create the raid array. Thanks

Re: DL360 G5 Mirror to Raid5 Config
Hi Steve,
in theory, you will not lose data, however it is recommended to make a backup.
The controllers (bothE200i and p400i) require Battery Backed Write Cache(BBWC) option to make raid level migration. So if you have the BBWC :
1. Add the drive & go into Array Configuration utility
2. Expand the array & extend the logical drive
3. Click on the logical drive and click migrate array
Step by step on page 36:

Re: DL360 G5 Mirror to Raid5 Config
Got ACU installed. On Page 36 point 4 it mentions possible raid levels. 5 is not listed for me as the array only has 2 drives currently and cant see how i add the new drive to this array? Thanks
