I am looking to move to Quad core models.
We use 32bit version of W2003 and currently
use the Dual core models.
My question is the quad cores offered in 32bit
os version.
Second question is does the Quad core run at
the set speed for eaxmple of the processor at
one speed.Or do you have a set speed for each core.
PJ.

SolutionDL360 G5 supports:
# Quad-Core Intel Xeon Processor X5355 (2.66 GHz, 120 Watts, 1333 Front Side Bus (FSB)
# Quad-Core Intel Xeon Processor E5345 (2.33 GHz, 80 Watts, 1333 FSB)
# Quad-Core Intel Xeon Processor E5320 (1.86 GHz 80 Watts, 1066 FSB)
# Quad-Core Intel Xeon Processor L5320 (1.86 GHz 50 Watts, 1066 FSB)
# Quad-Core Intel Xeon Processor E5310 (1.60 GHz 80 Watts, 1066 FSB)
The Existing Dual Core Processor U have & the upgrade Quad Core are 64 Bit processors.
U can use them without Issues with OS;
its not recommended to INCREASE CPU speed; Do NOT change Factory Defaults.
Regards,
James.

Re: DL360 G5 QUAD CORE MODELS
So i understand i can still use the 32Bit version of W2003 on the Quad model
I am planning on buying the new Quad models
rather than upgrading will this be ok.
My question about the Quad CPU is that it will run at one speed for all Quad is this
correct IE 1.66 so forth.
